Privacy

When you take a photo, it is sent over a secure connection to Mahutonga Media's server, which passes it to a frontier model to read the food in it. The photo is not saved by Kete Kai.
Your item list, menu, preferences and saved recipes are kept in this browser only. By default they are cleared when you sign out, or after 4 hours without use. If you choose Keep my list, they stay on this device until you clear them, and only your account can open them.
To sign in, Mahutonga Media's server keeps your email, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, and a count of how many photos and meal plans you use each day. It does not keep your photos.
If you start or join a whānau group, its meal ideas, plan and shopping list, your name and (if you choose) your kai list are kept on Mahutonga Media's server so everyone in the group can see them. Leave the group to stop sharing.
If you share a device, others may see your list until you sign out.
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which can see that your device asked for them.
